Rolling River Rampage gives you an abundance of craft options. From a variety of craft kits to additional DIY crafts, you can choose the ones that work best for your budget and that your children will enjoy the most.
Day One – Tie-On Life Vest and Handprint Preschool Craft – Elementary students can decorate a tie-on life vest using markers and crayons; they can then wear the vest to VBS the rest of the week. Preschool children can complete the handprint craft with paint and stickers to make it uniquely theirs.
Day Two – River Sand Art or Build-a-River-Scene Clay Set – Choose from the River Sand Art kit or the Build-a-River-Scene clay set. Both crafts work for all ages and allow for plenty of creativity. Tip: Each sand art kit includes the sand needed for the craft.
Day Three – Zacchaeus Diorama or River Rock Friendship Wristband – The Zacchaeus diorama works for all ages, but we think it will be especially great for younger children. Children will use markers, crayons and more to decorate their diorama, and they can practice retelling the story once they finish their diorama. Tip: Have additional supplies, like tissue paper and colored sand to add dimension to the dioramas. The River Rock Friendship Wristband is designed for elementary age children and will remind them to display the qualities of a good friend.
Day Four – Raised Edge Wooden Cross – This craft was a staff favorite, and we liked the variety of ways children of all ages could decorate the cross. From birdseed to stickers, children will enjoy choosing what to decorate with and will be reminded of God’s love for them. Tip: Scour your craft supplies for stickers, paint, adhesive jewels, and more to use for decorating.
Day Five – Campfire Suncatcher – This craft works well for all ages, although younger children may need additional help. Children will be reminded of God’s peace each time they look at their completed Campfire Suncatchers.
