How to Host a VBS Team Meal

What better way to kick off VBS planning and preparation with your team than with a themed meal? Eating together before the meeting allows time for your team to bond with each other and provides the energy needed to plan and prepare. Below are some fun ways to make your meal memorable and theme-focused.

Shipwrecked & Time Lab Foods

Pizza, tacos, sandwiches, salad, ice cream sundaes – all of these foods lend themselves to easy build-your-own meals (or dessert). Ask volunteers to help by bringing one or more toppings to share with the group.

Babylon Foods

Gyros, kebabs, and veggies with a humus dip – you get the idea. Serve a Mediterranean meal and have team members bring the sides and desserts.

Splash Canyon & Rolling River Rampage Foods

Fish sticks or fried fish over rice pilaf, a bag of chips, and ants on a log – a light but energizing meal fit for a day on the river!

Camp Moose on the Loose Foods

Roasted hot dogs and grilled hamburgers with s’mores for dessert make a delicious camp style dinner.

24/7  Foods

Sub sandwiches (aka hero sandwiches) and a variety of snack foods are perfect for this theme.

Focusing on your VBS theme as soon as possible will help develop a sense of unity and excitement within your team. Plus, everyone loves a yummy meal before a meeting!
